Through the Commonwealth's Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program, the Town of Stoneham was recently awarded $108,700 grant for a wetland restoration effort around the high school property. The goal of this project is to restore the wetlands near the high school to absorb more water and provide better habitat and outdoor recreation.
The Town has hired Horsley Witten to provide the technical expertise to execute this project. Additionally, the Town is working with the Mystic River Watershed Association to partner on outreach for the work.
We presented on the latest updates at the Stoneham Conservation Commission Meeting on Monday, June 12 at 7 pm.
