Report a Crime On-Line
Welcome to the Stoneham Police Department’s on-line incident reporting system. IF YOU ARE REPORTING AN EMERGENCY, PLEASE CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY. If you have any questions about using the on-line reporting system, please contact our dispatch center at 781-438-1215, extension “0”.
Information submitted through this on-line reporting system will be sent to the police department’s dispatch center where dispatch personnel will enter the information provided into our incident reporting system and assigned an incident number. You may be contacted by dispatch personnel if additional information is needed to complete your incident report. If the nature of the incident you are reporting requires follow-up, a police officer will contact you. Please understand that information submitted on-line is sent to an electronic mailbox and may not be immediately reviewed.
To be eligible to use this on-line reporting system, please ensure the following:
- This is NOT an emergency
- The incident occurred within or involves an address in the Town of Stoneham
- There are NO known suspects
- The incident did not occur on a state highway or DCR roadway
The types of incidents which can be reported through the on-line system are:
- Hit and run with damage to a vehicle or property
- Vandalism
- Past larceny
- Harassment
- Identity theft
- Illegal dumping
Note that the filing of a false police report is a crime. Massachusetts General Law, chapter 269, section 13A states: Whoever intentionally and knowingly makes or causes to be made a false report of a crime to police officers shall be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred nor more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment in a jail or house of correction for not more than one year, or both.
