Under Massachusetts General Law and the by-laws of the Town of Stoneham, all dogs over six months of age must be licensed annually. The licensing period in Stoneham is January 1st - December 31st each year per the Town's By-Law, with a late fee applied after March 31st.
The fee for a spayed or neutered dog is $10.00 payable to the Town of Stoneham; otherwise the fee is $20.00 for unaltered dogs. Three or more dogs per household are considered a kennel for licensing purposes with a fee of $30.00. A late fee of $10.00 is assessed on April 1st for all dogs that have not been licensed by March 31st.
Proof of neutering is required at time of initial licensing with the Town. Proof of a current rabies vaccination is also required if we do not already have it on file.
You may license your dog(s) in person at the Town Clerk's Office, online or by mail.
