HOURS SUBJECT TO CHANGE - REMINDER: RECYCLING STICKER REQUIRED FOR EACH VEHICLE USING STEVENS STREET. WHITE GOODS PERMIT REQUIRED FOR APPLIANCES, METAL, ETC., FEES APPLY
Yard waste, white goods, and cardboard is accepted. Metal items are also accepted, but fees apply. The services are available to Stoneham Town trash customers only.
Recycling stickers are required for each vehicle using Stevens Street. A white goods/metal permit is required for appliances, metal, white goods, etc. Fees apply. A drivers license and vehicle registration is required (vehicle must be registered in Stoneham). Passenger cars, pickup trucks, and small utility trailers only are allowed.
If a vehicle is sold (new registration required) or windshield replaced, return current recycling sticker to the Department of Public Works and a new sticker will be issued or $30 will be charged for a new sticker. Recycling stickers and permits are available at the Department of Public Works, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Miscellaneous Metal Permit (Recycling Sticker Required)
$10.each for disposal of the following items:
- Gas Grill (no propane tanks)
- Helium Tank
- Lawnmower (oil and gas drained out) no riding mowers
- No automotive parts or oil tanks allowed
- Scrap metal
- Washing Machine
- Water heater
All glass must be removed from aluminum doors and windows.
White Goods Permit (Recycling Sticker Required)
$20 each for disposal of the following items:
- Air Conditioner
- Computer Monitor (put keyboard in regular trash)
- Computer Tower/Hard Drive
- Water Bubbler
No Charge Items
There is no charge for the following:
- Button Batteries
- Cardboard - effective June 30 a dumpster will be available
- Fluorescent Lights/Ballasts
- Nickle-Cadmium Batteries
- Rigid Plastics - effective June 30 a dumpster will be available
A recycling sticker is required.
